ELSA London Contract Moot
ELSA London is pleased to announce our first Contract Moot. This will be a knock out competition of 4 rounds. It will run between January – March 2011 with the finals being held on Friday 18 March (date may change) at the Royal Courts of Justice. The competition is strictly for undergraduates (includes GDL) and, if successful, will become an annual event. Download the ELSA Mooting Rule Book – round one. 2011 Dennis Leslie Mahoney Prize in Jurisprudence
The Julius Stone Institute of Jurisprudence in the Faculty of Law at the University of Sydney invites entries for the Dennis Leslie Mahoney Prize in Jurisprudence 2011. The prize is funded by a generous gift from the Honourable Dennis Mahoney QC AO, former President of the New South Wales Court of Appeal.
AU$50,000 will be awarded to the author or authors of the entry that, since 1 January 2006, have best advanced the sociological approach to jurisprudence pioneered by the late Julius Stone. An entry may, but need not, consist of a book or articles. Entries of other sorts, including reports and papers, are eligible. Entries close on 30 June 2011. The winner will be announced in December 2011.
The Clive M. Schmitthoff Essay Competition
The competition is focused around the common international sales law, the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). The Principles of International Commercial Contracts by the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT) and Principles of European Contract Law (PECL) of the Commission on European Contract Law. Essays on any of these topics submitted by students at any institute of higher learning in the world are eligible. The winner will receiver a prize of $1,000. Entries close on 31 December 2011.
